I submitted a correction suggesting how the rest of the necessary pins should be wired. Suggestion: I like the "drawing" showing the pin connections for the USB cable. How was it done? I have purchased and received a Palm Serial cable that purports to be compatible with all these devices that has pin 8 *shorted* to signal ground. And it works like a champ anyway. Possible thought: Maybe the resistor is desirable, if you wish to force a particular connect type, but if shorted, it tries to connect via whatever interface appears to be active. I have added corresponding notes to the pinout note for pin 8, and added an update to the bottom text. | APPROVED |

I have edited the pinout and my original notes to reflect this. I have finished modding a Palm USB cradle to support both USB and Serial (My Win7 64 bit box won't support Palm's USB drivers.) By adding this mod, and purchasing a serial-to-USB adapter cable, you can connect your Palm device to a computer that won't recognize the USB cradle and drivers. (This, by the way, was how I discovered the errors in my original submission. It is now built, proven, and working.) | APPROVED |
