2010-09-26 06:46:58rev. 6INCORRECTThe connection list for the serial pinouts missed about half the connections, showing only the necessary crossover pinout for the RS232. I submitted a correction suggesting how the rest of the necessary pins should be wired. Suggestion: I like the "drawing" showing the pin connections for the USB cable. How was it done? A similar drawing for the Serial RS232 cable would be a great addition. JimAPPROVED
2010-11-02 16:29:36rev. 6ERROR FIXEDPinout notes for pin 8 may not be correct. I have purchased and received a Palm Serial cable that purports to be compatible with all these devices that has pin 8 *shorted* to signal ground. And it works like a champ anyway. Possible thought: Maybe the resistor is desirable, if you wish to force a particular connect type, but if shorted, it tries to connect via whatever interface appears to be active. I have added corresponding notes to the pinout note for pin 8, and added an update to the bottom text.APPROVED
2010-11-07 07:44:55rev. 7CORRECTOops! I goofed. Pin 8 is grounded *ONLY* when in USB mode. It can be left open to shift into Serial mode. I have edited the pinout and my original notes to reflect this. I have finished modding a Palm USB cradle to support both USB and Serial (My Win7 64 bit box won't support Palm's USB drivers.) By adding this mod, and purchasing a serial-to-USB adapter cable, you can connect your Palm device to a computer that won't recognize the USB cradle and drivers. (This, by the way, was how I discovered the errors in my original submission. It is now built, proven, and working.)APPROVED
2010-11-08 00:45:54rev. 8CORRECTCorrect - but I fixed my typo about ID1. It should have been SH1/SH2, shield ground to pin 12. ID1 is connected to pin 8. I added additional connector board info for power and ground to bring the connector board description up to date.APPROVED
2010-11-17 05:26:12rev. 9CORRECTRevisited document and (Doh!) noticed that the ordering of the instructions and descriptive paragraphs was totally non-intuitive. I have re-ordered the paragraphs, broken up paragraphs where needed, and edited for improved readability. Note that the comments about Prolific's drivers may or may not apply depending on the make and model of the USB/Serial adapter used. Many *do* use the Prolific chip-set, but it would be foolish to assume that *all* do.APPROVED

2014-08-20 19:51:25rev. 12ERROR FIXEDyou show this connector as m125 and m500 (I have an m500 keyboard looking for one for m125 which has 10 connectors not 16) I keep seeing everywhere on the net they are the same, no they are not, I own one so I know.APPROVED
2014-08-20 20:15:18rev. 12ERROR FIXEDsorry, I mistakenly said m125 is 10 pins, but my m500 keyboard is. STILL PROBLEM see here a link as all but 1 I've ever found, say m125/m500 same: http://www.amazon.com/PalmOne-HotSync-Serial-Cradle-Tungsten/dp/B00005B6S9 they are NOT.APPROVED
